Super Moon Photography with PTZOptics Cameras

A recent project showcased the versatility of PTZOptics cameras in astrophotography, specifically for capturing a rising super moon. This setup combined two distinct viewing options:

PTZOptics ZCAM attached to a telescope for detailed close-ups

PTZOptics 30X camera for wide-angle shots

Key aspects of this remote photography setup included:

  • Integration with vMix for live streaming capabilities
  • Use of a Live U Solo for stable streaming transmission
  • Video recording at 30 fps for high-quality footage
  • Ability to extract still photos from the recorded video

This setup allowed for real-time streaming of the super moon event to an online audience while simultaneously capturing high-resolution footage for later use. The combination of the wide-angle PTZOptics 30X and the telescope-mounted ZCAM provided viewers with a comprehensive visual experience of the celestial event.

The project demonstrated how modern remote photography techniques can bring rare astronomical events to a global audience, combining the benefits of live streaming with the ability to capture high-quality still images for posterity.
